A voice for african women
MIMI—which means “me” in Swahili—was founded in 2005. Since its launch in January 2005, MIMI has become one of the leading online publications for African women. Addressing a diverse array of topics, including fashion, beauty, music, politics, and culture, from the unique perspective of the African woman, MIMI is a channel through which African women can embrace their rich cultural inheritance and remarkable talents.
With interviews with some of the most influential African women in the world (Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji, supermodel Iman, and United Nations International Criminal Tribunal Judge Florence Mumba among others) along with contributions from diverse writers around the world, MIMI is poised to define the voice of a generation.
MIMI is published by MḮA: My Inspiration Is Africa.
