On seeing the official trailers below for the upcoming film “Marley” it really touched my heart, not because I’m a big fan of Bob Marley’s music but it was because I was able to get a glimpse of what type of individual he really is, the man behind the music. Who made a huge impact on music history and role as a social and political prophet both unique and unparalleled . Within one of the clips his daughter said that people would say ” all your parents do is smoke and play music nobody wanted their children around us”.
That is one of the biggest mistakes humans tend to make throughout life, which needs to be stop. They never take the chance to know the person first before they judge them and it is said in the bible :
Matthew 7: 1-15 ~
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
Notwithstanding from the point Bob Marley seem like a very down to earth man who just wanted to share his life with people through music and we all we get a chance to take a piece of his knowledge as his family and friends reminisce about the king of reggae through the documentary style revelatory interviews ,incredible performances on stage and the rare footage excerpts throughout the film.
Check out the trailers below as well as an a quote from the documentary and let us know what you think.
Excerpt: “Everywhere in the world people look at Bob as some kind of leader, philosopher, prophet, someone who speaks to their lives and in whom they find wisdom,” says Scottish filmmaker Kevin Macdonald. “It’s fascinating: Why is that? Nobody else has had that effect in music.”
